A lot of people didn’t think joking about the United States was very funny, and reacted negatively to others pointing out the shame of state of the United States. Less than a month before the election, one commenter couldn’t determine whether Trump supporters or Hillary supporters’ ire was triggered by this bit.

Rich Hall is an American comedian, writer, and musician, who rose to popularity as a sketch comedian in the 1980s. He wrote and performed for a range of American TV networks, in series such as Fridays, Not Necessarily the News (popularizing the “sniglet” neologism), and Saturday Night Live.
