Alia Shawkat is known for her roles as Hannah Rayburn in State of Grace, and Maeby Fünke in the Fox/Netflix television sitcom Arrested Development. She also stars on the TBS comedy Search Party.
Her father, Tony Shawkat, a strip club owner, is Arab Iraqi from Baghdad. Her mother, Dina Shawkat (née Burke), is of Norwegian, Irish, and Italian descent.
