Kimmy started dating Molly McNearney, a co-head writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live, in October 2009. Kimmel and McNearney became engaged in August 2012, and married in July 2013. On July 10, 2014, they had their first child, Jane.

Previously, Kimmel married Gina Maddy in 1988, but the couple divorced in 2002. They have a daughter, Katherine (born 1991), and a son, Kevin (born 1993). Jimmy Kimmel’s serious side following his son’s medical condition andthe Las Vegas massacre.

TV host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel was always the lovable frat boy of late-night, often more playful than political, but Kimmel put comedy on hold when his on-air story about his son’s fight for life became a call to action on healthcare. He also took a serious town following the Las Vegas massacre. His monologue was an emotional call for sanity, and gun control. Kimmel talks with correspondent Tracy Smith about his road to late-night, and why he’s not so bothered if viewers are upset by his heartfelt monologues.

Jimmy Kimmel admits that he’s one of the biggest phonies in the world, and that his show makes him lie for a living.
