A private jet with Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Molly Kimmel aboard made an emergency landing at Ontario International Airport on Friday February 15, 2019 because of a malfunctioning landing gear.
The aircraft, a Gulfstream Aerospace IV with N-number N729TY, took off from Los Angeles International Airport at 11:05 a.m. destined for Los Cabos International Airport. During departure, the aircraft lost one of rear right twin wheels, and the aircraft was diverted to Ontario International Airport.
The pilot of the aircraft spent fuel while circling eastern San Diego County as a standard procedure to reduce fuel on board during an emergency landing.
A view from SkyFox showed that only one tire was visible on the right rear landing gear, while two tires were visible on the left rear landing gear.
The pilot safely landed the Gulfstream just after 2 p.m. on Runway 26R with no collapse of the landing gear. Another private jet landed and taxied to the malfunctioning jet, passengers and luggage were transferred, and the new jet turned and immediately departed on Runway 26L.
