Donny Deutsch talks about predicting Trump’s success in the 2016 primaries, his front row seat to Trump and Michael Cohen’s relationship and why he thinks Donald Trump should be very afraid.
Donny Deutsch called Donald Trump a transactional racist. Deutsch offered liberal progressive talking points about the wall, the “Muslim ban,” and “the real meaning of Make America Great Again (MAGA);” but he never gave specific examples of how Trump is a racist.
On June 21, 2018, Deutsch described American voters who support President Trump as being “like Nazis” in a national broadcast on MSNBC.
Donny Deutsch thinks Donald Trump is vulnerable to racketeering accusations and subsequently should be afraid of prosecution under the Rico Act — The Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act is a United States federal law that provides for extended criminal penalties and a civil cause of action for acts performed as part of an ongoing criminal organization. The RICO Act focuses specifically on racketeering and allows the leaders of a syndicate to be tried for crimes they ordered others to do or assisted them in doing, even if the defendant did not commit the crimes themselves.
Deutsch was critical of Trump for being cheap, explaining that Trump was his landlord and charged him $3,000 for a cracked bathtub that Deutsch said he never used. Deutsch paid the damage fee.
Deutsch had had his own civil legal troubles. In 2014, Deutsch was ordered to pay a real estate broker a four percent commission for the 2010 sale of his $30 million home in the Hamptons area of New York. Deutsch was ordered by the New York Supreme Court to pay $1.2 million to Sotheby’s for his breach of contract with broker Edward Petrie.
