Woman Dies, Sister Hospitalized After a Devastating Fire in a Single-Family Home on Vista Del Mar in Hollywood

Firefighters from Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded at 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2026 to a report of a house fire in the block of 1700 Vista Del Mar Avenue in Hollywood.

Firefighters on arrival discovered a single-family dwelling, well-involved with fire. Firefighters quickly knocked down enough flames to make entry and perform a search. Two victims were located and pulled from the home. The first victim — initially identified as an approximately 15-year-old female, but later confirmed to be an elderly female — was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, an approximately 70-year-old female, was transported to a local hospital in grave condition following effective CPR.

Fire knockdown was reported in 19 minutes with 43 firefighters on scene in northeast Hollywood, less than one-half mile northeast of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

LA County Medical Examiner and LAFD Arson attached per protocol for fatality fires, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. DOT and LAPD (INC#0435) will assist with traffic control during extended overhaul and investigation.
